Water Damage
Restoration in Los Angeles and Orange County

A leak, a slab failure, or a sewer backup leaves you dealing with two problems at once: getting the water out and putting the home back together. Built to Perfection is IICRC certified and handles both, so you are not hiring one company to dry the house and another to rebuild it.

What Water Damage Work Covers

Water damage projects range from a single affected room to whole-home reconstruction. Here is what the team handles.

Emergency Water Damage Response

For active leaks and recent flooding. The team addresses the source, dries the affected areas to standard, and removes materials that cannot be saved.

Slab Leak Repair and Reconstruction

Slab leaks damage flooring, framing, and finishes from underneath. The team repairs the leak and rebuilds everything the water touched.

Sewer Backup Cleanup and Repair

Sewer backups contaminate flooring, drywall, and cabinetry. Affected materials are removed and replaced, not dried in place and left.

Mold Remediation After Water Damage

Water that sits creates mold. The team dries to standard and remediates affected materials before any reconstruction begins.

Full Reconstruction After Remediation

Drywall, flooring, cabinetry, paint, tile, plumbing, and electrical, taken back to finished condition by the same team that did the remediation.

How a Water Damage
Project Runs

First call and qualifying conversation

You call the office or fill out the form. The team asks about the source of the water, how long it has been there, what rooms are affected, and whether an insurance claim is open.

2

/5

A project manager walks the home with you, identifies what the water reached, and scopes both the remediation and the reconstruction in one visit.

Proposal and insurance documentation

What Water Damage Restoration Costs

Water damage work is scoped individually, because the cost depends on how far the water traveled, how long it sat, and how much of the home has to be rebuilt. For covered losses, the work is scoped against your insurance claim. Out-of-pocket projects follow the same $7,500 project minimum that applies to any Built to Perfection service. Pricing current as of 2026.

Cost Factor
What It Means
Site and permitting
Lot conditions and the permitting process in your jurisdiction
Insurance vs. out-of-pocket
Insurance-driven scope vs. custom-home pricing for out-of-pocket rebuilds
Materials and finishes
Standard vs. higher-end selections
Home size and layout
Square footage, and whether you rebuild to the original footprint or modify it
Extent of damage
Partial repair vs. full ground-up rebuild after total loss

Insurance

Working With Your Insurance Carrier

For covered losses, the team coordinates directly with your insurance carrier and documents the scope so the estimate and the finished work line up. Coverage decisions are made by your carrier, not by Built to Perfection, and every policy is different.

If you only need an estimate to file with your insurer and are not committing to the work yet, that is available as a standalone service for a $1,500 fee. Insurance estimates require specialized software and a full site assessment, which is why they are priced separately.

Common Questions

  • Call (888) 955-0535 and the office will schedule a project manager to walk the home. Water damage is time sensitive, so these calls move ahead of routine remodel consultations.

  • No. Most water damage situations involve a remediation company doing the drying and tear-out, then a separate contractor doing the reconstruction. Built to Perfection is certified for both, which means cleaner handoffs and fewer gaps between phases.

  • Yes. Water that sits creates mold problems. The team dries the affected area to standard and remediates affected materials before reconstruction starts, rather than closing walls over a moisture problem.

  • Yes. Built to Perfection handles all permitting on every project, including plan check, building permits, mechanical and electrical permits, and final inspections.

  • A project manager visits the home, walks the affected areas with you, and scopes both the remediation and the reconstruction. There is no charge and no obligation.

  • Yes. Built to Perfection partners with Synchrony Financial for consumer financing on remodel and construction projects.
